Perth-based Alicia Caplice is a qualified and practising infant massage instructor and a trained early childhood professional. As a child she was lucky to have parents who undertook massage training and incorporated massage into daily family life. After qualifying as a childcare professional in 1996, Alicia worked with many new families in her role as team leader at several childcare centres, focusing on babies under 12 months of age.

Alicia was introduced to baby massage and its benefits while living in London. She was working as a marketing manager for a yoga centre in Notting Hill and was responsible for helping the centre set up its yoga and creative program for children.

Through this experience she met many baby massage devotees who spoke enthusiastically about the impact baby massage had on their lives. In particular, they spoke of the bonding opportunities, the fact that they could now do something to help when their babies were in pain and the difference it made to their stress levels.

Alicia loves meeting new parents and sharing the joys of baby massage. In addition to all the benefits baby massage offers little ones, she finds baby massage gives parents additional confidence and wonderful new skills, which can enhance days that are often filled with the seemingly endless – but critical – tasks of feeding and changing.

Alicia trained with the Infant Massage Information Service (IMIS), which is endorsed by the Australian College of Midwives, the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS) and Accredited by the Association of Massage Therapists (AMT).In addition to baby massage, Alicia has also studied reflexology and is a devoted yoga student. She lives in Claremont, Perth, with her husband and young son.
